What’s News?

A lot has happened since my last post, so this should get you up to speed.  I graduated from university at Dartmouth College with an A.B. majoring in Engineering mod. Studio Art. A ten year journey starting in 2002.  Slow but steady, I got it finished.

My fiance Kimberly and I are extremely excited to announce our engagement to our friends and the ski community.  We began dating in the summer 2010 and have been inseparable ever since. I planned the proposal during our trip to Canmore/Banff after visiting Kimberly’s sister and husband.  I found this romantic place on a hike above Canmore.  She said yes 🙂

Here is a photo of my little boy Jackson. Growing up so fast!

I’ve picked up a new side career as an artist.  My new found talent as an oil painter began with courses I took at Dartmouth, and morphed into a full-on expression of the action and energy of the alpine slopes.  I’ve got a piece in a gallery up for auction to raise money for CAN Fund.  You can check it out and place a bid by going tohttp://www.canadianathletesnow.ca/current-events/talent-supporting-talent-art-exhibit.html

On the skiing front, I’m discouraged to report my concussion symptoms are very slowly improving.  I’m now at the point where I can go on a moderate intensity bike ride without any effects.  It’s been much slower recovery than expected, which has made it difficult to make plans for this season and 2014.  At the moment, things are a little up in the air.  For now, I’m focusing on getting healthy, and from there I can make a decision on where to go next.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the summer, and if you are down south enjoying winter, enjoy the skiing!!
